Patsy spoke first. Here are just a few of the highlights:
- Say "YES!" (to God every morning)
- Say "Thank you!" (to God at all times)
- Say a holy "No!" (to everyone else who would tell you that every opportunity is a once-in-a-lifetime chance)
God names and talks to the stars: "Sally, go ahead a shine a little brighter there, hon...you're doing a great job!" "Betty, you don't need to do all the shining...let Me have a chance."
How we treat others reveals how we feel about ourselves.
God has designed us with a will that is stronger than our emotions.
Proverbs 15:1 - "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
Andy followed Patsy. Highlights:
I went to school to be a vet and a taxidermist: either way you get your dog back. (lol)
Every day, for the rest of your life, people are going to push you into the swimming pool - decide now how you're going to react.
Great people have biographies. There's not a 'loser' section at Barnes and Noble.
Be who others want to be around.
Seeking wisdom means to live intentionally, make people associations and mind what goes in.
We can control the investment we make in ourselves.
Discipline means doing it, even if all you want are the results.
Canaries - Quality time (Just want to "be" with you.)
Puppy dogs - Words of affirmation (Just want to be affirmed.)
Gold fish - Gifts (Just want you to clean the water and straighten the castle.)
Cat - Physical touch (Just want to be petted.)
Patsy again. Highlights:
Talk on Proverbs.....
Come to God as a child.
Recognize God's provision.
Ask for wisdom and understanding.
I'm not weird, I'm a limited edition! God is still writing my story.
Big talker? Shut up in Jesus' name! (lol)
If we can Proverbs 29:20 (not be hasty with our words), we'll function better with others and actually like who we are.
Refuse untrue thoughts. Replace with truth. Repeat often.
Sometimes we pendulum-swing between extremes. Jesus in right in the middle saying, "Walk this way." I know He's in the middle because I see Him when I swing by!
Minimize your word count.
Don't cost someone life. Invest in life.
Q/A with Patsy and Andy:
Andy - God feeds birds but He doesn't throw worms in the nest.
Andy - Purposes may show themselves in the journey. So get up and get out there.
Patsy - Don't puff people up. Build them up.
Patsy - When you're young, being called 'weird' hurts. But as you get older, it becomes a compliment!
Andy Highlights:
Worry is focusing on the wrong thing.
Don't live from almost to almost.
Crisis is normal.
Quality answers depend on quality questions. Ask the right questions.
Don't just persist...persist without exception.
We are never lacking in money, time or proper leadership. We are only lacking an IDEA!
"But all the good ideas have been taken...." Really? We put a man on the moon before we put wheels on luggage.
Every good thing that happens to you in your life, happns because of how you act, not how you feel.
Every great thing that happens to you in your life, happens because of how you act when life isn't fair.
Smile while you talk!

Yesterday was my birthday and what an awesome birthday gift to be encouraged, inspired and challenged by these two wonderful speakers and authors!
I look forward to reading Andy Andrews' book: The Traveler's Gift. It outlines 7 fundamental principles that we can include in our personal lives and business that work every time! Find this book at Amazon.
Patsy Clairmont's book: Stained Glass Hearts. This book talks about "Seeing Life from a Broken Perspective." Find this book at Amazon.
We finsihed out the night with a concert by Mandisa!
Be encouraged and listen to her song "Stronger" from her album "What if We Were Real":
My hope is that, even if you weren't able to make it to Women of Faith this year, you will find one of the above truth-nuggets encouraging and inspiring, just as I did!
